Rip Roaring Russell Book Summary: Russell's enjoying his first year in school. The trouble is his baby sister, Elisa. She's only a few months old, and she's a pest! But sometimes, as Russell is about to discover, it's not so bad to have a little sister. Because that . The first read-aloud chapter books Russell ever enjoyed were the "Russell" series by Joanna Hurwitz, such as Russell Sprouts, Rip-Roaring Russell and Russell Rides Again (can you guess why?). Both of us enjoyed the funny, realistic stories of children living in an apartment building, written in the Beverly Cleary tradition of heart and humor.
Praise. Praise for Profiles in Murder: "Russ Vorpagel was a legend in the FBI. This book is about that legend. It is as exciting as the man himself. Here is the art of profiling — the psychological autopsy of a murder — laid out before you like a series of FBI reports. The first, Rip Roaring Russell is about Russell as a four-year-old dealing with nursery school, a baby sister, etc. I can't remember the names of all the later books, but eventually the family has a third child, and Elisa has to deal with not being the baby any more.

The book Rip-Roaring Russell is an amazing book/ story written by Johanna Hurwitz. This is a realistic fiction book that is so interesting that will make you keep reading because to me it seems like you could imagine that you were the little kid named Russell and it may remind you when you were small when you were with your mom and you needed help and she was there for you/5.
We are a second grade Rip-Roaring Russell book and we read Rip Roaring Russell. This book is about a little boy named Russell Michaels. He has lots of temper tantrums. Sometimes when he gets angry, it gets him into a lot of trouble.
But, we also notice how Russell changes throughout the book. He can also be very smart/5(4). Continuing Hurwitz' Busybody Nora series about the children in a city apartment building: a volume about Russell, ""four going on five"" and entering the Sunshine Nursery School.
The story is a little thin, with its cute anecdotes of Russell at home and school (his mother finally learns that Russell's new friend Germy is really named Jeremy), and a little too transparent in handling Russell's.

It is perfect for independent, partner or book club reading. Parents need to know that Russell Sprouts is a gentle, low-key book that examines the daily trials and tribulations of a first grader named Russell without a lot of fanfare. There's a brief scene of minor peril when he's at a movie theater; he wanders alone into a grown-up .Bright, ingenuous Russell of Rip Roaring Russell and Russell Rides Again is now in first grade.
Like his female literary counterpartBeverly Cleary's RamonaRussell experiences life fully, puzzling over. Harman’s tale is never less than rip-roaring, but as the final curtain came down, I was left thinking of Sarah Mancer, Russell’s maid She is only a small part of this story, but her life, and those of other luckless servants like her, deserve a book of their own.
